Boy Scouts of America Prepared for Life

A Successful Troop

Troop 26 was founded in 1919! We have scouts from both East and West Aurora School Districts. We have leaders and scouts who have completed advanced trainings so that we can provide the best possible program. The best part about our Troop is how invested our older scouts are in building relationships with the younger scouts.

Camping

Troop 26 enjoys camping as often as we can - usually once a month. In the last year we had a Thanksgiving campout where our Scouts cooked a turkey in a trash can! During the colder months, we hosted an indoor electronics campout. We attended summer camp at Bear Paw Scout Camp in Mountain, WI. We are planning a high adventure camping trip next summer.

Merit Badges

Merit badges are awards earned by youth members of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), based on activities within an area of study by completing a list of periodically updated requirements. The purpose of the merit badge program is to build valuable life skills and to allow Scouts to examine subjects to determine if they would like to further pursue them as a career or a vocation.
